Principals and Practice of Lifestyle Wellness
In my Principals and Practice of Lifestyle Wellness course, I had the opportunity to complete an honors contract and receive honors credit. In this class, we learned about mental and physical wellness, with an emphasis on physical activity, mindfulness, and mental wellness. For my honors contract, my professor and I decided to create a 31-day wellness challenge. Creating this 31-day challenge allowed me to interact more deeply with our course material and practice skills I will use as a Life Coach.
Creating this 31-day wellness challenge allowed me to grow my academic skills while working creatively to make something others can use. It also gave me the opportunity to work on building my research skills and practice creating realistic goals to help people live more wellness-based lives.

In order to come up with the nutrition and physical activity challenges for each day, I had to research the recommendations for each. To come up with the mindfulness challenges, I had to research different techniques that can be used to create more mindfulness and wellness. I had to ensure that all of my challenges were reasonable and attainable. I also had to ensure that the challenges slowly progressed off of each other so that by the end of the 31 days, the people participating were attaining the recommendations for physical activity and nutrition without even realizing that they were working towards it.

By working on this project, I have gained confidence in my ability to work with clients as a life coach and confirmed that this is what I would like to do for a career. This 31-day wellness challenge not only challenged me academically but also allowed me to live a more wellness-based life as I participated in the challenges for each day!
